Voarte’s workshop explores contemporary dance techniques that expand movement as a natural extension of the body, fostering body awareness in each participant. The performance “Breath” transcends time and space as four dancers navigate a narrative of loss and the rebuilding of connections in a mysterious, transient setting that resembles an airport between flights. Through this, it draws an analogy between missing a connection in travel and the search for genuine human bonds, examining the balance between life’s journeys and relationships. “Breath” symbolizes the vital air of human relationships, inviting reflection on the beauty and fragility of connection.
The ABANA activity “Creative Connections” is an experiential performance workshop that explores the bond between the self, art, and others. Through a series of guided exercises, participants will engage in drawing, movement, and sound to connect with their own creative flow and with the people around them. The line, drawn in a personal and spontaneous act, becomes the symbol of a broader connection: first with one’s own body, and then with others, transforming art into a bridge for expression and human interaction. In this way, art becomes a tool for building a symbolic dialogue between people, fostering deep and meaningful connections.
Locative Media Supercluster audiovisual installation Weaving Connections spatializes video interviews from the No One Forgotten project in an immersive video and sound setup. The multimedia experience is centered around the question, “What does connection mean to you?” asked to participants to the No One Forgotten project around the globe.
The installation does not only show connection between all people, but also blurs the borders between humans and non-humans,highlighting how all living beings are in harmony through shared sensory experiences. Visitors can not only watch these short videos but also contribute their own thoughts and feelings on the topic, becoming part of a growing installation.
HopeArt's workshop invites participants to be spiritually empowered and work on core concepts of connection such as empathy, vulnerability, generosity and expression. The performance "Homo Empathycus" follows George, a yellow balloon seller at his shop "Heliotropio," as he grapples with dwindling business, personal setbacks, and his own reluctance to adapt by diversifying his balloons. Through three significant encounters, George begins to realize the importance of flexibility, openness to change, and embracing life’s colors without losing his essence in an inner journey of balancing light with darkness, compassion with resilience, and individuality with connection, as pathways to dissolve barriers and create a more connected and luminous society.
